Policy and Purpose:

Sunnyvale Alliance offers Financial Aid to assist families in need. With recent changes to our Financial Aid policies, our Financial Aid program will help cover the more significant costs of playing soccer for both our Recreational and Competitive soccer programs. It also includes an eligibility process to help us assist as many families as possible with our limited Financial Aid resources.

What does SASC Financial Aid Cover?

Recreational Program:

SASC Financial Aid covers the following:
  • SASC Recreational Registration fee which includes the complete uniform (jersey, shorts and socks).
What is NOT covered - the player's family will be responsible for the following:
  • Providing shin guards and appropriate footwear. Note that players receiving SASC Financial Aid will be given early access to the SASC cleat exchange held before each season.
Note: There is no longer reimbursement available from the club for player equipment.

Competitive Program:

SASC Financial Aid covers the following:
  • SASC Club Registration Fee, Coaching Fees, and uniform jerseys (once every two years as needed).
What is NOT covered - the player's family will be responsible for the following:
  • Providing shin guards and appropriate footwear. Note that players receiving SASC Financial Aid will be given early access to the SASC cleat exchange held before each season.
  • Team expenses such as entry fees for tournaments, playing leagues, etc. May include optional items such as team backpacks or warm ups. Families should discuss these costs with the team manager before registration but all Financial Aid recipients should be prepared to contribute approximately $100-300 per season.
  • Uniform: Players will be responsible for purchasing specified shorts and socks to complete the competitive uniform kit.
Note: There is no longer reimbursement available from the club for player equipment.

Eligability Requirements:

SASC requires all families to provide proof of qualification for Financial Aid using one of the following documents:
  • Approval of School Subsidized lunch
  • Approval of Aid from Sunnyvale Community Services
  • Approval of Second Harvest Food Bank aid
  • WIC, SNAP AFDC approval
  • CalFresh, CalWORKs, KIN-GAP, and FDPIR BENEFITS
  • Medicaid membership
If none of the above is available, SASC will review documentation of income and the number of dependents against the Free and Reduced Meal Program income limits and Santa Clara HUD guidelines. SASC may agree to provide players with full or partial Financial Aid based on the data provided. Families that are unable, or unwilling, to provide the above proof of financial need will not be eligible to receive Financial Aid from SASC.

How to Apply:

Families will be required to apply for Financial Aid every season PRIOR to registering. Proof of eligibility will be required once every 12 months. Applications will be reviewed and approved by the Sunnyvale Alliance Financial Aid Committee.

Please allow 3-5 days for processing. You will receive an email with further instructions. Please do not go to the registration site before you have received those instructions.
